Spotlight: Harman Senior Recreation Center

Tucked into the heart of West Valley City at 4090 South 3600 West, the Harman Senior Recreation Center has become more than just a building—it’s a gathering place where neighbors connect, create, and stay active.

Open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., the Harman Center is designed for adults 60 and older, but you’ll quickly find it’s about more than age—it’s about community. Every week the calendar is packed with opportunities: exercise and dance classes that keep bodies moving, arts and crafts sessions that spark creativity, and clubs, games, and holiday celebrations that make staying social easy. Bingo days are legendary, but so are the bus outings, which take groups out to enjoy Utah’s sights, shopping, and cultural attractions.

For many seniors, the center is also a resource hub. Programs cover health and nutrition, technology training, and other services that make day-to-day life a little easier and more connected. A hot meal is served daily through Salt Lake County Aging & Adult Services, and transportation options help ensure no one is left out.

What makes the Harman Senior Recreation Center special is the atmosphere. Walk through the doors and you’ll feel it—laughter during a card game, music from a dance class, or a group learning something new together. It’s a place where friendships form and thrive.

If you or someone you know is looking for a welcoming spot to stay active and engaged, the Harman Senior Recreation Center is worth a visit. Call 801-965-5822 or check the official page for the latest activity calendar.
